Home for Christmas

This year was the first year I hosted my husbands entire family for Chistmas! The tradition has been passed on to me as we have the youngest child in our immediate family so we will be hosting for many years to come! It was really nice to stay home for two days....but it was ALOT of work. Good work, happy work, but hard work! I have a new found respect and apprection for all of those who cook and host any holiday meal throughout the year. It was nice being home to watch Hayden in all his glory....he got completely spoiled!
From my holiday hair and make up to our home, table and food. I was very pleased with how everything turned out! I hope everyone had a great time with loved ones this holiday season!

This and That

I am currently obsessed with this easy cappuccino mix from Costco! It's is filling my seasonal sweet tooth on a nightly basis!

We took full advantage of our first snow fall a few nights ago as it never sticks around too long.

I get a little OCD with gift wrapping but in my opinion it is very satisfying work!

Studded Obssesion

Studded Obssesion

Studded everything is showing up everywhere as of lately. Being a little softer in my fashion choices I haven't hopped on this trend just yet but I find it very intriguing. There are ways to keep it feminine like some of the above picks in pale pink and fitted, figure hugging cuts! What is your favorite way to rock studs?

My Fav picks are the Valentino purse and Burberry gloves!

Side Note: Sometimes I get lost in my closet. This happened last night! I dive in and try to create new looks or find ways to style old peices or those never worn before ones. We all know we have them! I get in trouble from my husband when I want new clothes but I have a closet full of them. Anyways, I  found an LDB from H&M that I haven't worn yet that I'm going to try on for size tomorrow! Wish me luck!

Scent of a Woman

The right scent can make you feel anything from sweet and playful to sexy or sulty. Perfume or cologne is probably on your wish list and/or shopping list. Here are a few of my favorite, female picks this year.
Daisy, Marc Jacobs ~ Light and fresh with notes of strawberry, violet and red grapefruit {approx $65}
Burberry, Brit ~ Pear, lime and lemongrass with almond and peony {approx $72}
Flowerbomb, Viktor & Rolf ~ Patchouli, amber and super sweet floral {approx $96}
ESCADA, Moon Sparkle ~ Black currant, citrus and red fruits {approx $60}

Dior, J'adore ~ Long lasting turkish rose and jasmine {approx $82}
Burberry Brit is my favorite but Flowerbomb is on my wish list! What are your favorite scents? Pin It

Sparks Fly

If anyone knows how to rock some glitz and glam it's Taylor swift! She is known for sequins and sparkles so what better inspiration for holiday style. She has said in interviews that she rarely wears pants because she loves dresses too much. Well Taylor, I like your style. Us girls need to dress up more often. We have way more fashion choices than our male counterparts so we need to take advantage of that. I am going to take some inspiration from this country beauty and add some sparkle to my holiday style!

Taylor looked stunning in a nude and gold Zuhair Murad at the American Music Awards this November. The smokey eye and edgy bangs complete her look! Pin It

Seasonal Snacking

So we are in the seasonal swing of things now...right? How's your meal plan working out for ya? Mine...not so good. After an array of parties I found myself headed down a path of diet destruction and it's way too early for that! I usually eat 4-5 small healthy meals a day but have reverted to 2-3 not so "clean" plates. Two weeks till Christmas gives me time to get back on track.

Healthy Holiday How to's
~ Eat breakfast, no mater how busy your morning is.
~ Pack snacks. An apple almonds beats the food fair while shopping and will keep you more energized!
~ Drink water. All those holiday coffees aren't helping you calorie intake or hydrating you.
~ If possible, sit down and eat dinner at home. Save eating out for the parties.
~ Snack at home before heading out to events where food is served. This will help you resist temptation       so you don't over indulge... too much ;)
~ Don't eat all the cookie dough!!!
~ If your hosting be sure to offer healthy options along side your usual traditional delights!
My fav go to healthy snack!
Good tips right? Now, nobody is perfect so please know I don't always follow my own advice. { I am currently addicted to the Starbucks Peppermint Mocha } spoken from a true mom "do as I say, not as I do"!! Well I'm going to try to follow my own advice this time.

*** Bonus

If I'm good 4-5 days a week, I won't feel so bad for the other 2-3!

Snowboarding Surprise

I surprised my husband for his birthday this past weekend! We went up to our local mountain, Mt. Washington, BC saturday night and hit the slopes all day Sunday. My sister and brother in law opened the doors to their family cabin and the 5 of us enjoyed a relaxing weekend. Mike was blown away with my ability to keep the secret and plan it all. After 5 years married and 9 together it becomes challenging to come up with good gift ideas so we prefer to plan a trip, dinner or concert. It is time spent together and memories made! Now if I could just figure out what to get him for christmas! Pin It

Christmas Chaos!

A much needed bath I enjoyed at our hotel pre- holiday party!
Hello lovelys, I'm a little behind on my posts as this week has been utter madness! With 3 holiday parties, out of towners visiting, swimming lessons, a house to decorate, shopping and gifts to wrap there is not enough time in the day....not to mention my usual 45 hour work week. To top everything off  it's my hubby's birthday on Dec 10th so I have a suprise planned this weekend!

Dress from Zara {old}
As we are on a budget this year I pulled out an old favorite that is tried, tested and true. I love this LDB and have worn it for many occations for many years! I added some festive touches like red nail polish and gold heels! Sorry for the lack of pics, my hubby snapped these on his phone before we left.

Ghetto Fabulous Baby Phat heels!
I hope everyone is finding much joy amidst the craziness that comes with the holidays. I will be posting more on decor, entertaing and fashion in the coming weeks and hope you come back to visit soon!

This and That

I almost died when I saw this Peacock feather wreath.
I had my Christmas party on Monday night in Vancouver.(Outfit photos coming soon) My husband and I always look forward to it as we get a night away in a hotel. I took a bath for the first time since I gave birth to our son! (side note: take more baths, it was so relaxing!)  A big thanks to my sister who watched Hayden for us! She is 3 months pregnant so we have to take advatage of her babysitting while we still can! Here are a few snap shots I took during our travels.
Veiw from the ferry travelling home.
I'm obsessed with my lastest ankle boots and will post more shots soon.
The perfect stocking stuffer for a girlfriend!
Hayden's First Christmas ornament I found while unpacking the decorations!!

casual ... neutral ...glam

This is a pretty go to look for me. I LOVE neutrals such as brown and beige and this look is dressed up with satin browns and golds. I love looking my best even if it is just to run errands and now that most errands are related to the holidays this outfit felt somewhat festive. I had a lot of shopping to do this past weekend and the parties are starting now. Between work and personal engagements my hubby and I have a minimum of two functions a week until 2013!! While I love any opportunity to get all dolled up it's a little like pulling teeth with my man as we have turned into home bodies {by default} since we had our son. I'm very excited to get Hayden dressed up for the holidays too and I'll be sure to post some pics of his mini, dapper duds!
Top : United Colors of Benetton
Scarf : market in spain {very versace "esqe"}
Jeans : Stradivarius {spain}
Bag: Louis Vuitton ~ Neverfull found here. {early xmas gift from my amazing man!}
Boots: Michael Kors {old style}
