I am in love with this scarf I received on valentines day from my hubby and I couldn't wait to wear it this weekend. I am even more excited as I can see it being worn almost every season! How was everyone's weekend? Ours was dedicated to Hayden, as usual, plus we had dinner with friends both nights, so all in all a good one. Happy monday lovlies!

Kabobs Sans Grill

In an effort to get out of my "winter" cooking habits I wanted to make a dish somewhat reminiscent of summer. So I made kabobs. Now I am not one to brave the cold and fire up the grill so I kept the cooking inside and did them in the oven and the result was fantastic.

~ marinated chicken breast diced cut into cubes

~ onions cut in 1x1 inch squares 

~ mushrooms quartered

I then baked at 375 for about 25 minutes.

I served with rice pilaf and a simple cucumber salad {thin sliced cucumbers tossed in tzatziki}

I covered the wood handles on my skewers with tinfoil to avoid burning.

Happy Heart Day!

So the hubby and I always say we have never been that into Valentines Day but when I look back we kinda have. I remember our first Valentines Day 9 years ago he made me Lobster dinner, one year he took me to a mountain lodge and another he surprised me with a trip to Cuba! Then last year I was at work in the middle of telling someone that we don't really celebrate and Mike show up with roses, chocolate and gift cards! So I guess we do celebrate it.... this year I made him something which seemed like nothing in comparison to what he did for me! Oh well, it is a girls holiday after all!

So there you go, I thought that was all and what a sweet man I have. Boy was I wrong. When I arrived at work I found a package on my desk. I was expecting something from my works Head Office and I was excited to open it so I did. He even created a fake shipping slip...I was completely fooled. {These photos have been recreated at home}

 A note with instructions to set up digital picture frame which now sits on my desk was surprise #1! It was full of photos of the two of us and family photos with Hayden.

Balloon and beyond heartfelt card came next! He said he would have married me the first day he saw me ~swoon~

Who is this amazing man....oh wait, he's my husband!

Ok, now things get a little crazy! Two tone grey GUCCI Scarf and GUCCI watch! I'm in love and I haven't even got to my purse yet!

Hunter Boot cleaner, just what I need. The chocolate is gone now but it was there!

Finally two GUCCI lanyards for my phone and keys and my Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mac. I chose the matte and gold and we are returning the patent and silver. I cannot believe after nearly 10 years my man can still pull off a surprise like this and spoil me rotten. I am the luckiest girl and had to share!

I have always loved her music but she has finally come into her own when it comes to fashion....and becoming a fashion icon. I am in love with her ombre, nails and flawless make up.

To Love What You Do

Hi All,

I have fallen off the blog this week but for good cause I promise. The past 3 days I have spent at a work conference and award show. I work for an incredible restaurant group Cactus Club Cafe. After 8 years with this amazing company I am still completely in love with what I do and look forward to going to work everyday. We have several conferences throughout the year but this is the big one. We are informed of the new years objectives and recognized for our successes over the past year. I am feeling inspired and excited to get back to work tomorrow and apply and pass on what I have learned to my team in the location that I manage.

I think it's so important to find a career that you love. Do you love what you do? Do you feel excited and challenged year after year? I feel lucky to know that I can answer yes to both those questions!

Baby Fever

Ok, so I am not pregnant, nor do I plan on becoming pregnant again. However, I have a bunch of beautiful pregnant Mommies and Mommies to be in my life. This summer is going to be baby fever! When I was carrying Hayden, although I wasn't exactly hitting the gym, I was inspired by sylish and fit celebrity Moms. I thought I'd share some inspiration.

My Quote

The other morning I was showering and I was thinking of how tired I was and how I must go to bed earlier. This thought led me to a quote...."I'll sleep when I'm dead".  I kept thinking "no" I need my sleep to feel alive! So I came up with my own quote...

" Some people say they'll sleep when they're dead, I say I'll sleep while I'm alive so I can live while I'm awake"!
